We have some Regular Activities during term time, which occur weekly. These are currently the following:

Monday:

Board Games, 3.30 – 5pm, Oasis Cafe.

We provide a selection of board games for you to play, such as Monopoly, Cluedo, and Chess. You can choose which game you would like to play, then you simply play – with one small rule: you must speak in English. There will be some Native English speakers there to help you. There is no need to sign up to this activity, just come along and join in.

Tuesday:

Conversation Club, 3.30 – 5pm, Oasis Cafe.

This is a very informal activity and you can join in for as long as you would like to. We provide some free hot drinks and biscuits and then you can sit at one of the tables. On each table, there will be a member of the Social Team to help you make conversation. Sometimes we set topics, if it is wanted, but mostly, we let you talk about whatever comes to mind. All sorts of things are discussed, from different cultures, to food, to more serious topics like Global Warming or Religion. Conversation Club is a great chance to make new friends and practice your informal conversational skills. There is no need to sign up to this activity.

Bouldering Beginners sessions, 7.45 – 9pm, Goodwin Sports centre.

Bouldering is climbing without ropes. It began as a sport to help build stamina for climbing, and then it took off as a sport in its own right. This session is led by a qualified instructor who will teach you all the basics and then help you develop your climbing technique. Climbing shoes are also provided. There are only 8 places a week for this activity, so you must sign up on the google sheet that will be emailed to your Sheffield email address.

Thursday:

Singing Group, 3.45 – 4.45pm, Oasis Cafe.

Every Thursday, Graham leads a singing group. He covers pop songs and he does take requests. You can practice your English pronunciation at the same time as honing your singing skills. There is no need to sign up to this activity.

Football, 4 – 5pm, Pitches A and B, Goodwin Sports Centre.

This is just an informal kick around, balls and bibs are provided. If you would like to play more competitively, then check out the teams on the Sport Sheffield website. Currently, you do not need to sign up for this activity.
