The Social Team will, from this summer, bring a weekly update of what has been happening the week before. We will upload some picture and tell you a little bit more of our activities. Last week, we posted our first update.

So, what have we been up to this week?

Last Thursday, we went to Revolucion de Cuba for some Salsa dancing and some fancy drinks. IIt was really good! Everyone learnt some new dance moves during the class and tried them out later during social dancing!

We will be going to Revolucion de Cuba next Thursday again, 30th July. Meet us at the University tram stop at 7pm for some more shimmering!

On Friday, our first Tea Afternoon took place. We had hot drinks, such as hot chocolate and tea, with some typical British cakes: Bakewell tarts, lemon cake and scones with cream and jam. Not only did we had lovely drinks and sweet food, but we had some really interesting conversations. Well, I think the pictures speak for themselves.

We will have another Tea Afternoon soon so make sure you check out our posters!

Zumba is our brand new sport and every week is getting busier –  we had over twenty beautiful women coming this week! This fitness class, which takes place in the Oasis every Monday at 4.30-5.20pm, is a fantastic way to keep fit and healthy while having a great time. It doesn’t matter whether you get the steps right – it is all about enjoying yourself and don’t stop shaking your body! How good does that sound?

Dog Racing, which happened on Tuesday evening, is always one of the most popular one off events as we get free food, a free drink and a bet. This time, we even had a lucky winner – Cesar won £10!

We will be going dog racing at some point again soon.

On Wednesday, a small group of students went to Centertainment for Laser Tag. It looks like they had a great time and students had a lot of fun targeting us staff!

This event always has very limited spaces and fills up very quickly so make sure you sign up quickly for the next one (TBC).

Football, which takes place every Thursday from 4 to 6pm in Goodwin Sports Centre, is extremely popular. All the pitches were full again this week!
